From a very young age I used to free dive to the “deep” and hold on to any rock I could find, for as long as i could, amazed by the beauty of the big blue. I needed to be down there!

With time this calling found my other big passion, history; and the two togeth- er led me to my first scuba certification some 20 years back.

For me diving is freedom! Diving allows me to enter a time capsule, explore and tell the stories behind! Their stories. The stories of the battles fought and the souls lost!

After completing my BA degree in Accounting and Finance, I worked in vari- ous positions within the financial sector both in the UK and Greece, ranging from Trading to Project management, for almost 20 years.

During all this time of my corporate career, the sea has always been the place where I went back to, to recharge my batteries and focus.

Finally, the calling got stronger and became a dream, and that dream is Athens Divers club!

Sea u ….. Down under

I’ve always felt a strong connection to the underwater world. As I started to explore it at a young age, I started to understand how important it is to take care of it and how strong it is connected to us.

Becoming a professional diver enabled me to mix my scientific background, extended knowledge of the marine life and years of experience in the tourism sector in order to be able to share all this with everyone who needs some Vit- amin SEA!

My first contact with scuba diving was on 2015, when I took part of an under- water.

I discovered diving in 2015 while participating in the underwater dance per- formance “Drops of Breath” as a dancer that I am. Since then, I realized that combining dance with diving was the only way for me.

When I am in the water, I feel like I am dancing with the ocean and my body becomes one with nature. Whenever I’m Teaching dance or guiding people to go underwater, I can materialize two magical worlds on land as well as in wa- ter.

Preparing people to take their first steps as dancers or scuba divers, is for me the ultimate fusion of two worlds that I love.

Born and raised in Cyprus under a flaming sun surrounded by salty water, the sea bottom was always an escape.

My normal job, if there’s anything normal about it, is in the theater business. I work as a theater director and actor for twenty six years in a row, trying to make the world a better place.

I went into scuba after a precious friend registered me for my first dive. And that was it.

Below the surface i found the silence i was craving for. I found peace.

Following the sound of my breathing the ocean allowed me to rediscover my inner self. It made me a happier person. And that’s why I’m teaching people how to dive today.

Because diving as well as theater allow me, try to make the world a better place. Or at least, help people be happier. Smiles are better when wet.
